After hints at a shareholder meeting held yesterday PiperJaffray analyst Gene Munster expects iTunes Movie Rentals next year., “Timing of this is difficult to determine, but we would expect [iTunes video rentals] sometime in 2008.”
Personally, I don’t see why we can’t get them sooner than that. The Xbox 360 wiping the floor with the AppleTV in a variety of ways, and movie rentals (HD Movie rentals ta boot!) are one of the ways that is happening. Apple is going to have to make some swift moves if they’re going to stay ahead of the curve on this.
