‘Morris Lessmore’ App Updated for the Holidays

November 15, 2011 by Robin Parrish Leave a Comment

New Christmas content from the 'Morris Lessmore' app

One of our favorite apps, The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore, has just gotten its biggest update to-date, with new Christmas content, a custom iPad case, and more.

Just in time for the holidays, Morris Lessmore has new Christmas content, including falling snow on the changing seasons page, the inclusion of A Christmas Carol on the book hand-out page, and more — for a new, lowered price of $4.99. In addition, the ultimate fan accessory, a Morris Lessmore branded iPad DODOcase that matches the red leather look of the virtual book’s cover, is now available. It can be purchased at dodocase.com/moonbot for $64.95. Check out the cute promo video for the case at the bottom of this article.

The app’s free update adds eight new languages in which readers can enjoy the story, including Spanish, French, German, Mandarin, Japanese, and Dutch. A real treat for the app’s fans is the ability to stream the animated short film on which the story is based from inside the app, along with a making-of documentary. Previously these videos were only available via a separate iTunes purchase.

The animated film has won dozens of international film awards, including San Jose’s CINEQUEST Festival’s “Best Animated Short Film Award,” SIGGRAPH’s “Best in Show,” and the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival’s “Best Animated Short Film Award.”
