Video: “Think Different” Ad with a 2008 spin

June 3, 2008 by Michael 4 Comments

It’s no real secret that I loved the “Think Different” campaign. I think its one of the greatest ad campaigns of all time, and I think that the original “Think Different” commercial is the absolute best that Apple has ever offered up. Yesterday I started thinking about all the other interesting people that could be in a commercial like that, including Apple’s own creators.

2 hours or so later, I had a new version of the “Think Different” ad edited together, which you can see above. I’m interested to see how long it takes for people to guess who a couple of these people are, and why they’re in the ad.

Feel free to sound off about it in the comments below.

    I’m not sure what those two you were refering to have “changed” except my impression of the Democratic Party.

    BTW, aside from that, is there any copyright violations in what you created? Just wondering.

    @Joe Reed

    I think if you put your political views to the side (regardless of what they may be) the fact that Woman and an African American Man are both viable candidates for President of the United States is certainly “Thinking Different” on the part of the American public. That’s all I meant by including them.

    As for copyright violations – I don’t think its something I’ll have to worry about. Every video was pulled from stuff already on YouTube, and all of it has been on there for a very long time. If the copyright holders had a problem with it existing there, I would imagine they would have taken it down by now.

    That’s another thing that has changed.
    People used to care for their fellow man and considered stealing wrong. Attempting to rationalize it by saying someone else took it first doesn’t change a thing.

    How touching a tribute to change that is beladen with the status quo.
