As iPhone 6 rumors continue to build up, almost reaching fever pitch as we come nearer to the official Apple announcement, retailers are making their moves. We know how these things go…
When the time comes for Apple to release a new model of a product, the prices of the latest models go down; and that’s exactly what’s happening already.
The news is that Walmart is cutting the prices on the iPhone 5C and 5S today. And it’s not just a slight discount, mind you. Walmart is making huge cuts.
How You Can Afford the Upcoming Apple Products
According to CNET, a person from Walmart has leaked information that starting today, prices will be as follows.
- the iPhone 5C 16GB will cost $29 (from $49)
- the iPhone 5S 16GB will cost $99 (from $149)
Naturally, these prices do not take into consideration the two-year contract that comes with the unit. Walmart sells iPhones contracted to either AT&T, Verizon, or Sprint.
Another detail worth noting: you have to buy the phone from a physical Walmart store, and the sale will start at 9AM.
Walmart is not the only retailer that is lowering its prices on iPhones. In fact, they are not the first in this period. Earlier, in May, Best Buy had its own promo that ran for a weekend.
So if you’re still on the iPhone 5 (or older), and you are up for the 5S (yes, I purposely left out the 5C) with a contract, head over to the nearest Walmart today.
