In an effort to boost sales of the AppleTV, Apple is now promoting the device on iTunes as a way to “unlock your music”.
The ad notes how you can connect your AppleTV with a single cable to your home theater system, then seamlessly connect and play your entire iTunes library. It also covers Genius playlists, but never once mentions television shows, movies, or podcast, in its pitch.
Will this help push more AppleTV units?
I doubt it, but you never know. What Apple should do, in my opinion, is push the device as the amazingly simple media hub that it is in a series of ads. If Apple devoted even a quarter of the money it reserves for making fun of Vista to actually promoting the AppleTV, it might not be a “hobby” anymore.

they should include a visualizer in the next firmware update, and either allow iTunes to sync & play more media formats (.avi etc) or just allow non-synced media to be uploaded/streamed from the ATV (or from rear USB port).
I’d still like to see a lower price…
If they spent half as much time checking for glitches, like not being able to do direct searches, with out the thing rebooting. But I will have to wait and see what the 2.3 software brings, that came out today.
The Apple TV has so much to offer, I am sure it can do a whole bunch more, like maybe, Wigits as an example. That would be cool, so you can Twitter, check the weather and such forth, from your armchair, with out having to boot up the Mac, when you are one of those who does not have an iphone, or a Hacked Apple TV.
