Want an iPad? Now You Can Go to Target

October 4, 2010 by Kevin Whipps 1 Comment

Purchased an iPad yet? If not, then now you have another option: Target. The deets from PC Magazine:

There’s nothing too fancy about the announcement, however, save for the fact that Apple is ever so slowly diversifying the places you can pick up its products. The same six models of iPad at Target are available for the same six price points that you’d otherwise find at an Apple store itself.

Although, there is one interesting caveat in terms of what you can actually purchase through Target. For starters, no iPads are on sale via the company’s retail web site—all iPad purchases must be made and picked up in-store only. Yet, a number of iPad accessories are sold via Target.com instead of actual Target retail locations.

I told my wife about this when I first heard about it, and she says to me, “Why wouldn’t you just go to the Apple store?”

About a week ago, I got a call from a girl that I used to date a few years back. She’s become a friend of both myself and my wife, and we helped her pick out an Intel iMac back when they were white. It’s finally given up the ghost on her, but thankfully, she’s decided to take the plunge and get a new 13-inch MacBook Pro. I couldn’t be prouder.

Thing is, she hates the Apple store. Says it “feels creepy,” which I don’t understand in the slightest. After all, they’re full of helpful people ready to guide you through your purchase, but she has some aversion to them for some reason.

So if you’re one of those people and you still want an iPad, head on over to Target.
