Apple has made some truly terrible pointing devices in its time. Apple’s puck mouse was so bad that it was rated one of the worst tech products of all time. The current Magic Mouse might not be that bad, but it’s hardly short on flaws. It’s uncomfortable to hold. It’s difficult to click correctly, causing…
In an effort to get the EU off Microsoft’s back, Steve Ballmer held a press conference today that will completely change the way Microsoft does business..at least as far as their products are concerned. The company is going ‘open’,and will begin publishing documentation for all of its “high-volume product” APIs free of charge. The company…
A few months back, HTC and LG pioneered the Google Mobile Apps into their phones. Including them as a “one stop shop for everything Google” made everything easier. Months later we have a great update to the mobile application and we’re glad that they have it for the iPhone, following the disparity over the Apple…
It’s quite funny, actually, since it was only yesterday that I wrote about the slur campaign against the iPhone going on in China. Today, though, I read about vendors in Beijing selling iPhone 6 units – genuine ones, they say. Initially, one might think that it might make sense, especially since the iPhone is being…
I received a WWDC invite in my inbox yesterday (apparently even downloading Dashcode is enough to get one). You can see it by clicking on the image to the left. What is really interesting about it is the design of the invitation. It is obviously modeled after Time Machine, a new Leopard feature, but what it…
You know sometimes its nice to wake up to a good chuckle, and Psystar definitely provided that this morning for me. The company who only yesterday decided to offer a $399 system they’re calling ‘OpenMac’ that comes with Leopard pre-installed (which is a violation of Apple’s EULA), has decided to ride the wave of publicity…
Last week Apple released an update for the AppleTV that allowed HD downloads of TV shows, adding Genius playlist support, and a few other things. Many users have reported issues with the AppleTV being rendered non functional after the update according to Mac Fix It. The main problem was that the unit would go into…
In an effort to knock Kanye West off his perch as the top selling iTunes album, Stephen Colbert implored his “Colbert Nation” to all purchase his album, “A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All” today at 5:00 pm EST. Currently his album is sitting at #15 on the sales charts, but if thousands of…
Because Apple’s yellow and ethnic-sensitive emojis are not enough. SwyftMedia just released 30 branded emoji keyboard apps for iOS as well as Android, and boy, they will either make you clap your hands in excitement, make your eyes pop out, or give the idea a thumbs down. (Y’all know the emojis for those, I bet.) With…
Madden ’08 and Tiger Woods ’08 are now available in the Apple Store among several other EA games. The two ’08 games have hit for the Mac only a few weeks after their PC counterparts, which is good news for those who are enthusiastic about the future of gaming on the Mac. I know it…
I kind of got off track with the whole Macbook Pro Battery adventure, then yesterday I had the lovely experience of my very first migraine headache. Good times. Now, however, it’s time to get back into the swing of things with the 30 Days of iPhone coverage. It never occurred to me when I decided…
The Lower Merion School District in Pennsylvania is in for some deep trouble according to a lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court. Apparently, they’ve been using the built-in iSight cameras on the student-issued MacBooks to spy on students and see what they’re up to. Of course, they claim that they only turn on the cameras…
