If you use your iDevices for work or school, the iPhone in your pocket is probably filled to the rim with apps that are supposed to make you more creative, more productive or more attentive, and we’ve spent some time pointing out some of the best apps for saving time or working more efficiently, but if you’re anything like me, most of the time when you’re using your iPhone, you’re doing some pretty unproductive stuff – searching through Facebook, retweeting stupid tweets, reading “The Onion” and occasionally falling into the black hole that is Wikipedia.
Sometimes it just feels good to indulge in some good, old-fashioned time wastin’. If you’re on the look out for some of the best apps for this ever-popular pastime, look no further! Here is our list of the top 3 time-killing iPhone apps you should download today.
Quiz Your Friends with Trivia Crack
Trivia Crack is one of those absolutely essential time-wasting iPhone apps. In December 2014, Trivia Crack was the most downloaded app in the App Store, and it has retained much of its popularity since then. If you were too cool to play Trivia Crack whenever everybody else was in 2014, it’s not too late!
If you’re not into endless puzzle games or mobile casinos, try Trivia Crack. This ridiculously fun time-waster is a must-have for anyone who enjoys playing trivia or just challenging friends to feats of wit. You can sign up for the app with your Facebook credentials, making it easy to find your friends and have some real friendly rivalries going in no time. Playing is easy, so you’ll be up and running soon after you download the game. You spin a wheel that is filled with icons that represent different categories of questions.
So whether you’re a history buff, a science nerd, an artsy misfit, entertainment gossip, sports jock or geography – uh… geographer… Trivia Crack has just what you need to waste some serious time.
Stumble Upon Some Cool Stuff with StumbleUpon
The StumbleUpon iPhone app is everything you love (or hate) about the website, but StumbleUpon in the app form is even more addictive and, thus, an even bigger time-waster. If you’re not familiar with StumbleUpon, it’s basically a curated playlist of website (determined by your interests) that you… well, stumble through. Download this app and you’ll spend hours stumbling upon things that you never dreamed existed, and you might even find a few things that you save for later.
When you’re using StumbleUpon on your laptop, it’s easy to get a little distracted. Don’t get me wrong: you can still spend hours mindlessly flipping through all of the things there are to stumble upon, but it’s easy to get distracted with an incoming email, another site on a neighboring browser tab or that song you hate coming up next in your randomized iTunes playlist. When you’re using the iPhone app, however, it takes up the entire screen, and it’s really easy to get lost in the curated randomness.
If you’ve never tried out StumbleUpon before, frankly, I would be surprised, but when you’re looking for a great app to pass the time, this iPhone app is definitely worth your… well, time.
If You Build It (In Minecraft), They Will Come
Obviously Minecraft is an incredibly popular computer game, but Mojang has really stepped up its game with the Pocket Edition of its popular franchise. This game is available on the iPhone and iPad, so you can waste a lot of time no matter what iOS device you’re using.
If you’ve never played Minecraft, you might be wondering: What is Minecraft? What is the purpose? And for these questions, I don’t really have an answer for you, making this a really great time-waster. Minecraft is a game that’s all about building things, but there’s really no other purpose. You’re not building for any real reason, and there are no real goals to achieve. It’s just the ultimate time-waster.
The bad news is Minecraft isn’t a free time-waster. You’re going to have to cough up $6.99, but for a game of this caliber, it’s worth every penny.
There’s nothing in the world more precious than time… so what are you waiting for? Get on your iPhone, go to the App Store and download these great (or terrible) time-killing iPhone apps today!
