The newest Application from Collobos Software, FingerPrint, will have iPad users jumping for joy – it brings back AirPrint support to Mac OS X 10.6.5.
FingerPrint is a simple application that tells your iPad the printer connected to your Mac is AirPrint compatible. This App bypasses the need for Terminal commands and other workarounds that were required to get AirPrint working after Apple disabled it in the final release of OS X 10.6.5 for reasons unknown.
FingerPrint won’t work with every printer available unfortunately. The developer, Scott, was kind enough to release a 7-day trial of the $7.99 App to ensure users can use enable AirPrint functionality on their printer.
If you’ve used FingerPrint, let us, and other interested iPad users know in the comments whether your printer was compatible with the AirPrint.
