For a limited time Bing is offering its “Top 100s by Year” application for free on the iPhone! Get the Top 100 songs of each year from 1947 to the present!

Whether there is a party that needs quality mixes, or just a music connoisseur that wants to remember that the Beastie Boys “Intergalactic” (#9 on the list) and the Goo Goo Dolls “Slide” (#65) were tearing up the charts in 1998, the “Top 100s by Year” App serves as the ultimate DJ.

The amazing creators at Bing have created an innovation for music lovers that is a must download! Simply open up the App, scroll through the dial, and choose a year, from 1947-2009. Immediately the list goes on shuffle mode, bringing up the artist’s picture, the title of the song, the tune itself and its number rating in the Top 100 of that year!

Press the upper right hand corner to view the entire list and clicking on an artist will provide previews of the song, or an opportunity to buy it from iTunes. Every genre of music is represented in the lists, which are not based off the Billboard charts, but are instead decided by the songs immediate and long term impact in the music world.

Load up the 1980 Top 100 and catch Bob Marley’s “Could You Be Loved” (#55), John Lennon’s “Watching the Wheels” (#52) and “Don’t Stand So Close to Me” from The Police at number 28. Press the skip forward button to keep the shuffle moving in the year.
