Well, it’s here: The Apple iPhone 4 Case Replacement program, and for the uninitiated, here’s how it works. Go to this page, download the app to your iPhone, and order your replacement case. After entering your iTunes account password, you can then pick from a few different case options, then choose to have them send to your house. Just like that, easy as pie.
Pictured above is one of those cases, the Speck Fitted Case, in dalmatian houndstooth. It’s a combination of hard plastic and fabric, and looks pretty cool. I’m not too familiar with the Speck cases myself, as my first experience with one was when I went out shopping for iPad cases a while back.
Not all of these cases are available today, as well. Some take several weeks to ship out, including the Bumper, which last I saw was 4-6 weeks out.
Whether or not you agree with the whole antennagate/design flaw situation or not, making the case replacement program an app is an easy way for Apple to verify each customer as they go, plus make it pretty and visual. The app has a very “Apple” feel to it.
If you haven’t done so yet, and you want a free case for your iPhone, go download the app now. Let us know when you start getting them.
