AT&T has FINALLY made Free Wi-Fi for iPhone’s available to users. Twice now the company has almost done this, then changed their minds for whatever reason. Now, however, AT&T is allowing iPhone users free access to its 17,000 Wi-Fi hot spots around the United States.
AT&T claims that all iPhone subscribers received a text message alerting them to this new perk — but I didn’t…and no one that I know with an iPhone seems to have gotten one either.
Did you get one?

I received the message at 12:54 (CDT) on 29 Oct. The message said to visit http://www.att.com/attwifi for details.
But since I have AT&T DSL at home, I already had access.
I got one lastnight (10/29) around 9pm.
Just got the text from at&t.
I’ll have to try it today at starbucks to see if it actually works.
Yes, I did get a text message a day or two ago about it.
I got my text today. I’ll call it official when I see it working,….
I received the text yesterday. Make those “ouchie” phone bills hurt less knowing that I get wi-fi access at lots of places now.
I got one a few hours ago.
I received an email. No SMS yet.
I got one on the 30th like they said.
