Apple’s Macbooks and Macbook Pros are apparently selling out globally, according to estimates by The Apple Blog.
So far flagship stores in London, Toronto, Manchester Arndale, and San Franscisco have all reported sell outs. There is no official word from Apple on this matter, and it could merely be that stock levels were initially low, but the new portables certainly seem to be a hit.
If your local Apple store is running out – or has completely sold out – let us know in the comments below.

Flagship store in Toronto!?! nope but only one flagship store in Canada is Montreal.
I’d be much more inclined to say that Apple is understocking to repeat the iPhone queue phenomena in order to attract the most possible amount of people, and it’s also important to know that Apple Stores are the first ones to get these new babies so other stores aren’t even in the picture at the moment.
Every shop in my area (including the one where I reserved mine) have absolutely no clue over when they will be getting these new notebooks while the Apple Store already tried to sell me no less then 5 Pro’s in les then 5 minutes.
All of the Apple Stores in North Carolina are sold out.
🙁
They got a shipment in just before 11:00 AM (right when I called) and all of them were gone by about noon (when I arrived).
I dont know if the vancouver canada apple store is sold out, or if they just dont ahve them yet, but they certainly have none at this time, and they didnt have any when i went to check yesterday, either. No other stores have them either. So vancouver seems to be completely new apple notebook-free at this time
I walked into my local Apple Store at South Hills Village in Pittsburgh at 12 Noon on Oct. 15. Their shipment had just arrived and had not been put on display yet. I bought their first unit, and it is truly spectacular! Great performance, super display, and great design. Go for it!!!
How can selling out mean that the new MacBooks are a hit. That could be just based on low inventory, right? Say ten MacBooks/MacBook Pros to a store and boom, they’re all sold out. I’m not being negative, I’m just saying it’s a possibility.
I went back to the Apple Store today and got 1 of the 2 MacBook Pros that they got via a early morning shipment!!!
