December 14, 2010 by Tanner Godarzi Leave a Comment

Google Latitude, the geo-location based social network made its debut early last year. After being blocked from the App Store by Apple, Google Latitude is finally being released for the iPhone.

Google Latitude, which launched in February 2009, was not available on the iPhone after Apple asked the search engine giant not develop an iOS App to avoid user confusion between the integrated Maps Application. After living 2-years as a web App, Google Latitude was finally allowed to be developed for iOS devices and was recently approved for the App Store. The App supports real-time location updating even when it’s not running.

New Features Of Google Latitude

With Latitude, you can:
– See your friends on a map – find out who’s nearby and meet up.
– Share your location continuously with whomever you choose – help friends and family stay in touch with you, even when you canÂ’t take out your phone.
– Control your privacy – share only city-level location, hide your location, or turn off background updating at any time.

Google Latitude is available from the App Store for the iPhone 3G, 3GS, iPad and iPod Touch.
