Hulu has finally been cleared by Apple to launch its long-awaited Hulu Plus app on Apple TV. It’s there waiting for you, right now.
Hulu Plus requires a $7.99/month subscription, but many modern viewers are finding it an excellent (not to mention considerably cheaper) alternative to cable TV or satellite. Virtually all of the same shows you regularly watch are available on Hulu Plus, and you can watch them on-demand, with unlimited streaming. Hulu has a vast library of both current and past TV shows, so if you’re the kind of viewer who enjoys following a specific set of dramas, comedies, reality shows, and so on, it’s a fantastic deal. Viewers more interested in news, sports, or major events (such as the Olympics, the Oscars, or the election) will find less value to ditching cable in favor of Hulu. Choose wisely.
To access Hulu Plus on your Apple TV, just start up your device. Its green icon should already be there on the main page. If you don’t see it, perform a system update and restart your Apple TV. That should do the trick.
Hulu provides instructions on how to sign up for their subscription service right here. Hat tip to 9 to 5 Mac for pointing out that you can sign up for a free, no obligation, one-week trial of Hulu Plus over here.
