13-Inch Non-Retina MacBook Pro to Be Discontinued This Year?

It’s not that this comes as a surprise. After all, anyone who has used the Retina MacBook Pro knows that the possibility of going back to a non-Retina device is practically nil. Sure, there is the price difference, but it’s easy to look at what the Retina MacBook Pro has going for itself.

It’s thin and, it’s light. Of course, not as thin and light as the MacBook Air, of course.

Its display spoils your eyes so much so that you don’t feel comfortable using a non-Retina laptop anymore. Yes, including a MacBook Air.

There is also the fact that the 13-inch non-Retina MacBook Pro is the only laptop in Apple’s (MacBook Pro) lineup without the resolutionary display. And when was its last refresh? June 2012. It’s really not likely that we’re going to see it around much longer.

Another thing we can’t ignore is the price difference between the 13-inch non-Retina MacBook Pro and the Retina MacBook Pro.
MacBook Pros
A hundred dollars! If that’s not an indication that the former is on its way out, then I don’t know what is.

So this may only be a rumor, but I think it’s one of those that bears watching as it is quite likely to happen. No one will complain, I think.
