Why Free Software is Not Free

Mac App Store

Mac App StoreOver at TUAW TJ Luoma posted commented on developer Brittany Tarvin’s great entry about free software and why free is a misnomer in her opinion.

Brittany found all together 13 reasons why free software isn’t free, seen from a developer’s point of view. Money quote [pun intended]:

People who make software have more to do once your purchase has been made. We are here for you when you run into issues by providing a support team to answer questions, walk you through troubleshooting steps, fix bugs, etc.

TJ also points out the lacking possibility to test-drive software in the App Store via a demo.
