Something terrible is happening in Darfur. We don’t hear a lot about it, and it isn’t something most of us think about everyday, but it is happening. While we’re sitting here at our computers awaiting the iPhone, Leopard, and that widescreen iPod (that ain’t coming, btw…not right now anyway) to be released…people in Darfur are starving to death. People are dying.
If you want to help, it’s easy. Instant Karma is a collaboration between Amnesty International and Yoko Ono. They have gathered a collection of amazing talent ranging including U2, R.E.M, Aerosmith, Christina Aguilera, Green Day, Big & Rich, Snow Patrol, The Postal Service and tons more to cover some of the best of John Lennon’s solo work. The 23 track album is available in iTunes for as little as $11.99, and all of the proceeds will go to help aid the people of Darfur.
There are a variety of options for the album, you can purchase individual tracks, music videos, singles, and you can pay more than $11.99 if you want to give more. It’s a great cause…and previewing the music should show you it’s great music. You can’t lose.
