I go into an office 2-3 days a week, and when I do, I share space with another guy. He’s also an Apple fan, and he has an iPhone 4 as well. Of course, we both have the same ringtone, and we both have the same SMS notifier. His phone rings, I jump, etc. It’s ridiculous.
The new iOS 4.2 beta came out yesterday, and with it came additional SMS ringtones. Out of the box, the iPhone only has a few different SMS ringtone options, and really, the only one I like is Glass. Here’s to hoping something new is coming down the pike.
Only a few more weeks until 4.2 goes live, and I can’t wait.

You can easily make your own ringtones from mp3s within iTunes. Takes a few steps but nothing a quick google won’t help you with.
