A Post on the Zune Insider blog yesterday revealed that Microsoft has been planning to drop the price of the 30 gig Zune to $199 for months. It just HAPPENS to be the day before an Apple event that is going to debut new iPods that will blow the Zune even further out of the water.

That’s amazing timing.

The post also confirms that Zune customers are extremely satisfied with their devices (94% to be precise) and the Zune team expects that even more users will want to experience the brown brick lifestyle at the new price point.

In related news, Leprechauns have begun riding Unicorns over rainbows in a race to lay claim to the pot of gold located at the end. My money is on the little fellow in the purple lane.
