At&t was no help, but Apple was much better. I’m on my way to the closest Apple store in Austin. It’s a 4 hour round trip drive, but I should have a new iPhone before the end of the day.

I feel for you. My iPod (an old 3G) didn’t work the first time, and I had to change it…
Nonetheless I really envy you having your (not working) iPhone. Here in Italy I’ll have to wait at least three months to start thinking about getting one.
I hope your iPhone gets to be working. It doesn’t seem fair it should happen to you, one of the hardest working apple fans out there!
The iPhone is meant to come out within the next year, 4th quarter Steve said. Can’t wait until then!
Ivan,
I hear you … But I’m asking myself: which European carrier can deliver the services that AT&T delivers for the whole USA? While Apple allow multiple parties to provide connectivity for the iPhone in Europe?
Jimmy (Belgium)
is it three months for it to come to the europe market?? if thats the case, it isn’t that bad… i was expecting maybe next year or so.
Don’t rush….it will probably take AT&T at least 72 hours to activate it once you’ve purchased it. If you haven’t been following it, AT&T activation service is completely melting down. Their system(s) crashed for about 2 hours last night and now the AT&T reps are telling people that activation will take anywhere from 24 to 48 (and I’ve even heard 72) hours.
Good luck to us all.
haha its funny to see this happen to an apple fanboy ESP. When its the product of the year. Btw I’m posting this with an iPhone . Hope you get yours soon
Michael, I hope your Austin trip gets you all taken care of. I’m sorry to see you have such a crappy experience out of the gate with your iPhone. You were so excited yesterday to be getting it, I just hope this doesn’t sour your opinion of the phone itself too much.
