I was a little bit nervous yesterday about my iPhone purchase getting cancelled and/or delayed, but shortly after that post went live I received an e-mail from Apple saying that both of the iPhones that I ordered have been shipped. When I first checked the little box had been in China and Hong Kong, but most recently it found its way to Alaska, as pictured above.
Now here’s the interesting part: my shipping date is June 23rd by 6 pm. Even more interesting is my wife’s iPhone delivery date, which is the 23rd also, but before 10:30 am. I’ve never pre-ordered from Apple before, but I have heard of iPhone being received prior to release day. Why? Well it makes sense, really. If 600,000 people pre-ordered last week, then that’s a ton of people who would be receiving packages via Fed-Ex or UPS on Thursday, and there’s only so much the delivery services can do.
The next step in the process is preparing my iPhone for sale. Got my original box ready, my Craigslist account fired up and everything ready for Thursday/Wednesday. Here’s to hoping I can make up some of my purchase price!
