Freeverse shows off iPhone TV-out proof-of-concept

Table of Contents

The team over at Freeverse have played around with the iPhone’s new undocumented feature that allows apps to use the TV-out function, and have added the feature to a version of their game Moto Chaser.

The user uses the iPhone as a controller to tilt the bike from one side to another while racing down a track. There is one little problem, though. The phone’s screen doesn’t work while any of this is happening, so you can’t actually use it for any buttons. That’s a pretty serious limitation that will have to be overcome before this becomes truly useful for play on an external device.

Freeverse does not plan to add this feature to Moto Chaser anytime soon, regardless. At least, not until Apple makes it official.
