Apple to support PA Semi Chips, no new chips planned

Table of Contents

Recently Apple acquired chip maker, PA Semi, a move that had many speculating that they might possibly be returning to the Power PC chipset. However, Apple was quick to point out that they had no intentions of leaving Intel anytime soon – which left the production of some of PA Semi’s chips in doubt.

This raised further speculation that the US government might not let the deal with PA Semi go through, since they depend on chips created by the manufacturer for a variety of projects.

The Register now reports that Apple is, in fact, going to continue supporting the PA Semi Chips, although they won’t be introducing any new ones.
