Apple climbs 38 slots on Fortune 500

apple-logo.jpgApple managed to jump 38 spots on the Fortune 500 this year, from 159 up to 121, making it the 4th highest ranking company in its industry behind Dell (No. 34), IBM (No. 15), and HP (No. 14) according to MaCNN (I assume we’re talking about computer manufacturing here, and not software, or media devices.)

Microsoft (for those of you that are interested) ranked at No. 49, down one place from last year where they ranked No. 48.

It is also worth noting that over those four companies, Apple is the only one to make a significant jump UP the list. With Dell down from No. 25 last year, HP down from No. 11, and IBM down from No. 10.
