Wow – the rumor mill is just going all over the place this week. Now, the guys at Gear Live are reporting that Flash is on the way to the iPhone. Now, with as many rumors as we’ve been seeing this week its easy to dismiss them all, but like the price drop rumor from yesterday, this one comes from a very reliable source.

Gear Live had the 1.1.3 update for the iPhone WELL before it was released. People didn’t believe it, but it turned out to be 100% true. That gives them enough credibility where you have to at least acknowledge their claims.

The Gear Live crew even goes so far as to say that the previously reported reason for the lack of Flash on the iPhone (“battery and CPU issues”) were a complete fabrication, and business negotiations have been the only thing really keeping Flash off the iPhone.

SO – to sum up the iPhone rumors thus far – there may or may not be an event at the end of Feb, where the iPhone SDK will be released, unless its delayed until WWDC. There will also be a $100 price drop (unless there’s not) on the iPhone and iPod touches, including dumping the lower capacity phones (unless they don’t), and on top of the SDK we’ll see Flash on these devices…unless, of course, we don’t.

  1. Let’s hope that this rumor on Flash coming to the iPhone is true. I have been very disappointed that the iPhone (I really do like it), that features, iTunes, iPod, Internet, Safari, Wi-FI, You Tube and more has not been able to listen to live streamed radio.

Looking forward to this rumor becoming true and for the iPhone to finally become the iPerfect digital device.

  2. And this is also a good news for all of us Flash Developers out there! 🙂

I’m curious to see if they will release a Flash lite player, or the full thing. I think we’ll just have to wait and see. 😉
