You might remember in 1999, at Macworld…a video game was previewed…it looked pretty awesome…it was called: HALO. Have you heard of it?
Not too long after that, a company by the name of Microsoft decided to buy Bungie, who had originated as a Mac only developer. The original Halo still managed to appear on the Mac (and is STILL one of the most downloaded demos on the platform). Halo 2 and 3, however, were Windows and Xbox 360 only.
Butt that might be about to change. Bungie and Microsoft have officially split…while Microsoft is still heavily invested in the company, and the Halo property, Bungie is an independent company once again. That means that we can now see Bungie software for a variety of other platforms now – possibly even the PS3 and Wii. Bungie fully intends to return to the Mac platform, but there has been no word on if that will include the Halo property, or any of the Halo sequels.
