Game publisher Konami has announced some major support for the iPhone platform in 2009. The company plans to bring some of their biggest franchises to the device, including Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill, Dance Dance Revolution, and Frogger.
Metal Gear Solid Touch will be a new installment of the Metal Gear franchise set in the Metal Gear Solid 4 world. Silent Hill: The Escape will bring the survival horror franchise to the iPhone, and Dance Dance Revolution S Life will be a new rythm-based music game experience for iPhone and iPod touch users.
Frogger is the most curious of the bunch. Primarily because there is already a Frogger title available for the iPhone, and it’s been out for a while. There is no further information available about how this new title will differ from the current one.
All titles are being optimized for the iPhone and will feature touch screen controls and some use of the accelerometer.
