Apple releases iPhone OS 2.2 Software Update

Late last night Apple released the iPhone 2.2 software update. New features include:

Enhancements to Maps including Google Street View, public transit and walking directions, display address of dropped pins, and you can share location via email

Enhancements to Mail including a resolution to isolated issues with scheduled fetching of email, and improved formatting of wide HTML email

Safari – improved stability and performance

Podcasts are now available for download in iTunes (over Wi-Fi and cell networks)

Decrease in call set-up failures and call drops

Improved sound quality of visual voicemail messages

Pressing the Home button from any Home screen now takes you to the first Home screen

Preference to turn on/off auto-correction in Keyboard Settings.

To get the update all you have to do is connect your iPhone to your computer, and click “Update”.
