New Mac Pros Mean the Old Ones are Cheap

Table of Contents

Oh, the Mac Pro. Device of people who really need to crank out resource-intensive projects. It’s what some video editors prefer for editing their movies, and what some designers love for working on magazines and other work. It’s also the price of a used car, and with the latest update, a grand more expensive than the last car I bought.

That cost can seem a bit prohibitive, and it can be frustrating if you need the power. Fortunately, you can save a few bucks if you don’t mind using a bit older technology. That’s because like many Apple products, once the new ones go out into the world, the old models go up for sale at a discount.

That’s only partially true with the Mac Pros. The best deal you can find is on a Mac Pro with the dual 2.25GHz 8-core Intel Xeon processors, 6GB of ram, 640GB hard drive and NVIDIA GeForce GT120. That model is 15% off,  netting you a savings of $500 and a purchase price of $2799. That’s still a grip of cash to drop on a computer, but saving money anywhere you can is always a good deal. If you’re in the market for a Mac Pro but don’t want to have to sell your car to get one, here’s another great option.

  1. This is really the only way I’ll ever get anywhere near to owning one of these beasts! I have done this several times with apple stuff (eg iMac). I gotta thank those crazy fanbois who always want the latest apple stuff!
