Does it drive you nuts that whenever you make an alias file (ctrl+click> Make Alias) it has the word “Alias” in it? It drives me crazy…anyway, I was very pleased to find this solution to the problem…
If you hold the Option and Command keys while dragging the item to another folder (or the desktop…which is where I usually drag everything). This will create an Alias of the file without it actually having the word “alias” in the text. You will still be able to tell that it is an alias file because of the small arrow that appears on all alias file icons.
