Inspired by Robin’s review of the mOna iPad stand, I decided to take a look at the other iPad stands available in the market today. I have never used an iPad stand to be honest – although I guess my bulky Belkin case does function as a stand somehow – but I do find myself thinking about getting one sometimes. After all, iPad stands do come in handy.
If you are in the market for an iPad stand, but you want something that is not your run-of-the-mill accessory, I think this compilation of unique iPad stands will catch your attention.
Nendo Faucet Stand
One look at this stand, and I was intrigued. Running water has always gotten me, and if you feel the same way, then you might want this stand. It may not give you the soothing sound of flowing water, but I am sure there is an app for that!
WedgePad
I see the WedgePad as the perfect stand for those who like using their iPad while lounging on the couch or bed – and who doesn’t? The great thing about this stand is that it also works on other surfaces, so if you actually get off your butt and “work” at your desk, it will also do the job.
Joby GorillaMobile Yogi
My first thought: “Look, ma! No hands!” That’s more than enough to convince me to try this iPad stand out. The versatile legs allow you to hook your iPad to a wide variety of things – from your legs to furniture to whatever the legs can be wrapped around. I guess if you’re into using your iPad as a camera (although I highly discourage that), this stand can function as a tripod as well.
Adjustable Skadoosh Stand
The Adjustable Skadoosh Stand is brilliant because it gives you a lot of leeway in terms of the viewing angle. Whether you want to use the iPad for FaceTime or for typing, you will find the most suitable angle for the job. I also like how small it is.
DIY iPad Cardboard Stand
This one is by far my favourite, simply because it taps into the DIY-er in you. I have heard (and seen, I think) of other people making their own iPad stand from cardboard, but I can’t seem to find photos, so this one will have to do. Not only does it give you something to do in your free time, you also get to save money and stamp your personality on your stand! And that’s as unique as you can get.
