You know how it is. You’re traveling, you’re on-the-go, you get to the airport, you whip out your iPhone or iPad, and there it begins: The never-ending search for your headphones, your power cord, your stylus, or what have you. Raise your hand if you frequently find yourself rooting around in your carry-on bag or purse for that one accessory you need.
STM’s Cable Wrap bag can fix this conundrum once and for all. Doesn’t matter if you’re a frequent flyer or you just get tired of hunting for cords. If you need to better organize your accessories, the Cable Wrap gets it done.
It features a roll-out design that gives you easy access to everything inside. There, you’ll find a total of nine pockets — three small ones perfect for EarPods, one medium-sized pocket, two medium-sized stretchable pockets for larger items, two stretchable canvas pockets, and one extra-large canvas pocket with a zipper.
The Cable Wrap comes in water-resistant black canvas or gray polyester; both styles are lined with water-resistant polyester, too. The 10″ high x 6″ wide bag unrolls to almost two feet in length, and it has a strong canvas strap that clasps together when it’s rolled up. The bag feels lightweight, yet it’s very sturdy. There’s little to no padding, so drop it at your own risk. It’s won’t cushion your stuff, but it’ll do a brilliant job of keeping all your cords from getting tangled up.
I was pleased with how much stuff can be crammed into the Cable Wrap; not only will it hold just about any accessory you can think of, the external strap is adjustable so that it’ll close no matter how much is inside. I also like a lot of the little details, like the rubber tip attached to the zipper that makes it super-easy to grip. I appreciated that the strap is adjustable, so no matter what you put inside, the Cable Wrap will hold it. And all my stuff stayed safely tucked in the various pockets, so the bag works exactly as advertised.
My only qualm with the bag came from the locking mechanism on the external latch, because it took me a few minutes to figure out how to open the thing. It connects together smoothly with a solid snap, but I expected it to unlock by squeezing on the sides. That’s how most of these kinds of latches work. It didn’t help that there is no documentation included with the bag. Even the manufacturer’s website does not explain how the latch (or any other part of the bag) works. I finally figured out that you have to press down on one end of the top of the latch. In retrospect, it’s a simple answer that should have been obvious. But with no instructions, how is one to know?
All in all, the Cable Wrap bag is a great little accessory. It can hold any smallish thing you can throw at it, from accessories to iPhones and iPods, to even hard drives.
