Talk about innovation! (Or not?)
Joe’s Jeans, a lifestyle brand based in Los Angeles has designed jeans called #HELLO that are specially made to fit a mobile iPhone charger.
Sounds good, doesn’t it? Mobile iPhone charging jeans.
And they don’t look too bad as well. After all, the brand is supposed to churn out stylish products.
As you can see, there is a pocket in the waistband which holds the mobile battery pack. It also has another pocket to the lower right to hold your iPhone. They’re placed close enough so there’s no hassle of a wire that’s too long. They even thought of placing the phone pocket in such a way that it won’t be totally under your butt, carrying your full weight when you sit down.
Awesome, right?
Until you get pickpocketed, that is.
That could just be pessimistic me speaking, but I really don’t think that putting your phone in your back pocket is a good idea. Even if they call the pocket “secret pocket”.
And, is it just me, or does that iPhone look bent?
That aside, #HELLO jeans don’t work with just any other mobile battery pack. Joe’s Jeans has its own battery, which is made to the specs of the jeans pocket.
Specs:
- Length 3.75 in. X width .19 in X height 2.32 in.
- Compatible with iPhone 6/6 Plus/5/5s/5c
- This device will charge an iPhone® 5/5s up to 80-85% and an iPhone 6 up to 70%.
If you were initially sold on the idea, that last bit up there might change your mind. At $49, I would want a full charge.
Add the cost of a pair of jeans, say the #HELLO Skinny Kaila, which is $189, it’s rather ridiculous.
Or will this thing take off, and I’ll have to eat my hat?
