To thank customers and convince potential subscribers to not switch to Verizon, AT&T is giving something special to iPad and iPhone users.
Get 1,000 Free Minutes For Your iPhone
In early February, AT&T announced it would be giving subscribers 1,000 rollover minutes to entice them to stay. It helped some reconsider defecting to Verizon yet only recently have rollover minutes been applied to some accounts. For those who didn’t receive a text, you can message an AT&T number (11113020 according to Cult Of Mac) to receive your 1,000 free rollover minutes:
I don’t know about the rest of you, but I didn’t get the initial text from AT&T offering me 1,000 free Rollover minutes. I had to beg for mine by sending a simple text containing the word “yes †to a number (11113020) that people shared with me.
Free Month Of Data For Your iPad
In what could be perceived as another bid to retain as much data subscribers as possible and convince them not to switch to Verizon, AT&T is giving iPad 2 owners a special incentive. According to the folks at TUAW, an email is being sent to AT&T customers offering them one month of complimentary data (2 GB) as a trial for their new iPad:
To take advantage of the offer, you just need to contact AT&T at 1-888-237-5888 or visit an AT&T Store. You cannot access the offer through on-iPad activation.
To avoid being charged if you no longer want data, you must avoid using 2 GBs of Data in 30 days and call AT&T to cancel your data plan. It’s also worth noting this is a post-paid plan and AT&T requires you have existing service with the carrier before you can claim your free month of data.
