I hate cords. At the moment, there are very few things with visible cords on my desk, but unfortunately, some of them I can’t do away with. For the foreseeable future, there will always be a power cord of some type, and since I love my Apple Keyboard with 10-key so much, a cable from the keyboard as well.
When it comes time to dock a USB drive or connect my iPod cable to the computer, I hate having to run it across my desk to the USB hub mounted on the side. The wiring adds extra clutter that drives my OCD nuts. To fix that, one option is to get a computer stand that also integrates a USB hub as well as a place to stow your computer, like the Quirky Space Bar. This dock sits your iMac or Apple Monitor up off of the desktop, with enough width to stuff a full-size keyboard underneath it, as well as two USB ports on each side. Adding that to the two USB ports in the back, you’re at 6 USB ports, all of which are powered by an external power source.
This thing isn’t available for shipping today, but apparently it’s very close to final production. If it’s what you’re looking for, keep an eye out on their website for updates, as it looks like it will be shipping soon.
