Apps for Job Hunters

Table of Contents

It’s a sad fact of life: the Recession has made times hard for everyone, and most people these days are constantly on the hunt for additional income. Whether you want to pick up some extra cash with a side job or you want an entirely new career, here are 6 free apps that will help.

Beyond.com

The Beyond.com app takes the website’s targeted job search and translates it into an OS X interface. Includes built in social network sharing, and original features that offer advice for finding the perfect job.

Available for: Mac, iPhone & iPad

Career Builder

This comes with a nifty GPS function so you can narrow down your search by location, along with all of the bells and whistles of the CareerBuilder.com website. You can apply for appealing jobs right from the app.

Available for: iPhone

Monster.com Jobs

Works with your existing Monster.com account to access all the data of Monster’s website, along with some snazzy additions like GPS job search, set up job alerts, and even edit cover letters within the app.

Available for: iPhone, iPad

Indeed Job Search

Indeed’s app is pretty basic, offering little more than their website data via a bare-bones iOS interface. But they’ve got a ton of listings, so it’s worth looking into.

Available for: iPhone & iPad

USA Jobs

The government’s official career search app has a cool interface, but it doesn’t offer as many job listings as other services. At least they’re trying, though. Right?

Available for: iPhone & iPad

Real-Time Jobs

While far from perfect, it’s probably the best iOS app that searches Twitter for jobs. It uses data from TwitterJobSearch.com.

Available for: iPhone
