The Apple Rumor mill is going INSANE!

Posted by: Michael on Oct 13, 2008

Tomorrow’s Apple event doesn’t seem like it could possibly have any surprises left in it. There are images of cases, rumors about price point, and many, many other rumors running around the ‘net let mad today.

Well not here.

I don’t know about you – but I’m getting kind of tired of these events being completely spoiled before they happen. It’s like waiting to see a movie – but reading the official novelization while you’re waiting in line. It takes all the fun out of it.

Honestly, if I didn’t write on this blog – I probably wouldn’t read most of the Apple blogs out there before events, because I’m genuinely tired of knowing everything going into it.

Does anyone remember the “one more thing…” days when you could be blown away by what might happen at the end of these things? All that’s gone.

Now rumor sites are constantly getting leaked images and information before the launch of the event, and many times they’re right. Sure, there’s the occasional “iTablet” rumor that just flat-out isn’t true, but there are many rumors these days that end up being accurate, especially just a few days in advance.

I’ve received 42 emails about the Macbook cases that have leaked online over the weekend. It’s impossible to avoid it. Still – I don’t see any reason to post it here. I’d like to be spoiler free…but I can’t. If you WANT to stay spoiler free…stick around here, we’re not spoiling anything else. If you WANT the spoilers…there are plenty of places to get them…

Now…what the heck can we talk about today?

We can talk about the economy meltdown for example. :)

I am in complete agreement. It’s like opening presents before you get them…

I sometimes go one step further and avoid everything, even after it’s official, till I can watch the keynote, I like having Steve tell me. I wish they would stream the keynotes. (or do they and I don’t know about it?)

Let’s talk about turkeys. Or turkeys examining new Macbooks cases. Or looking up turkey recipes on new Macbooks. Or just new Macbooks and rumours. Why don’t we just talk about tomorrows event?

@Andrei

The 24 Cable News Channels have that one covered. :)

@Joe

Agreed.

@Giordano

Thanks!

@Rick

No, Apple doesn’t stream them. I don’t think there’s enough bandwidth in the world to keep that stream going.

@Justin

I’m a fan of turkey. It’s one of my favorite edible birds. I look forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas almost solely for the amount of turkey I get to consume along with my mother’s dressing.

As for the new Macbooks – I can’t wait to see what STEVE has to show us.

:)

@Michael

I like your attitude. If I could high five you I would! Calm down kiddies. Christmas is going to come. It always does. Remember, patience is a virtue…
