You Got Served – Valleywag Gets Letter from Apple Lawyers

Table of Contents

Remember how we told you yesterday that Valleywag had a bounty out for any information on an Apple Tablet? Turns out that screwing with Apple might just get the lawyers involved.

As your offer acknowledges, Apple has maintained the types of information and things you are soliciting — “how it’ll work, its size, the name, the software”, as well as any possible details about the product’s appearance, features, and physical samples — in strict confidence. Anyone who might have access to such information would be bound under the strictest contractual obligations not to disclose the information to third parties.

Ouch. Of course, Valleywag is excited as hell about this, because they figure it’s confirmation that the Unicorn Tablet does exist, since they lawyers were called in. Me, I’m not so optimistic. File me under “if you mess with the bull, you get the horns.”
