OSX Quick Tip: Expand Multiple Folders Simultaneously

Want a quick way to find a file that you’re looking for?  Sure you can use Spotlight, but if you like digging through folders there is a way to open multiple folders at the same time.

  • First Command-Click on all the folders that you want to open.
  • Next, press Command-Right Arrow and those folders will all expand at once.
  • Press Command-Left Arrow (assuming the folders are still highlighted) to close the folders simultaneously as well

  1. Note: you must be in list view for this to work. Plus, if you hold down Option and Command, all embedded folders will also open and close.
