Hello everyone and welcome to the brand new Apple Gazette.com. This is the third major revision to the site since its launch in 2006. I’m very proud of the work the entire team has done on creating this new interface for the site, and we’re all amazed at how positively the design was received when we asked you for feedback.
If you happen to notice any bugs related to the new design please shoot me an email at michael(at)applegazette(dot)com, and let me know.
In addition to the new layout there are a few new tools you can use here on the site. In the sidebar now you can find our most popular posts, recent comments, and recent posts in one convenient place, making it easier than ever to explore the site.
For those of you that prefer a more traditional blogview, you can simply head over to to our /News page and see all posts in a standard blog style.
My favorite new tool is our Share tool, which is designed by iBegin Labs. This is a great open-source WordPress plugin that will allow you to share any story on Apple Gazette with your friends. From Digg, Facebook, and Twitter, to emailing or even converting an article to PDF for print or email – all you have to do is click on the share tool, and then click on what you want to do. It’s a great resource for sharing AG content with others, and I hope you like it.
We’ve also added a Flickr Gallery into the sidebar featuring some of my favorite Apple-related photos from Flickr.
Finally, I’ll mention the tabs at the top of the featured area of the main page. You can tab between our Top Story, Featured Review, Featured Commentary, Apple Gazette Daily, and AGTV.
Our Top Story will change throughout the day, depending on what’s happening in the world of Apple each day. The Featured Review will be the latest of our product reviews, which you will be seeing a lot more of with this new interface. The Latest Commentary is where I will place those rambling diatribes that I have a tendency to write, and Apple Gazette Daily will, of course, be where you can tab over to hear the latest episode the daily audio podcast.
AGTV, the upcoming video podcast, is in full production, and will launch on May 19th, 2008. For now you can find a preview video there, and expect to see a behind-the-scenes preview of how I go about making the show in the coming weeks.
Please let us know what you think about the new design in the comments below. We love hearing your feedback!

Good work! An Apple Gazette Daily “Widget” in the Sidebar would be nice.
I thought you can use a Categorie-Filter to display the Headline of your AG Daily Show. Just like you filter out Comments in the Sidebar.
Example:
– Apple Gazette Daily 257 – Apple lawsuit, WWDC extention, and more! (Apr 29, 2008)
By the Way Michael and Zippi are NOT me, splitted up in two personalities.

Why then call it news archive, rather then “News”? 😉
I absolutely LOVE the new design, it looks great. I am really happy with the new logo as well, it was a smart choice.
@Zippi
You make a good point. I’ll get it changed. 🙂
@Michael
Thanks, glad you like it!

Got any suggestions on a good widget that loads quickly without bogging down the site?
too bad my name is stephan, and not michael… that’d been fun
