Do you spend too much time at the computer? 2, 4, 6 or even 8 hours at a time? I know there are a lot of you out there. I’m the same way. If I get to working on a project that is time consuming I can spend hours in one sitting without taking the time to get up and walk around.
The problem with that is that it is extremely unhealthy. It is not good for you to spend that much time hunched over a computer in a sitting position without getting up – especially if you do it frequently.
That’s where this piece of freeware from Dejal software comes in. It’s called Time Out, what it does is quite simple, but very, very helpful. Time Out helps you take breaks by reminding you in regular intervals that you need to step back from the computer and take a walk around.
Time Out allows you several customization options to fit your needs, from length of the break, frequency of the break, and even advanced features like setting up an automator workflow to run at the beginning or end of each break.
It’s a great little piece of software, and the price (FREE) can’t be beat. Click Here to download it.

How many times do you say to yourself, “OK, let me just finish this one thing and I’ll go to the bathroom.” Next thing you know you’ve been holding it for an hour. Anyone? Anyone? No, me neither.
That same idea is built into Leopard’s Parental controls.
