As I mentioned the other day, I’m going to be doing some work at a local magazine, and part of the deal that I worked out involved setting up my workspace with everything I needed. Since my computer is mobile, I needed to make sure my other components came with. Essentially, I wanted to recreate my home office at this new location, making it as convenient as possible to work in two separate places. Here’s what I ordered.
First, the peripherals. The Apple Keyboard with Numeric Keypad is there, mostly because I love having that numeric keypad on the side. It’s also cheap, saving the company a bit of money in the process, and it’s the same thing that I have at home. Next is my mouse – but you’ve heard enough about that one – and then the MStand from Rain Designs. I love that stand, and it fits perfectly with my next request, a Dell 21.5-inch monitor. It’s not perfect, but it is cheap, and it does the job well enough on my desktop, so it’ll work there as well. Finally, a USB hub and a mini display port to DVI adapter. The hub will make it easier for me to dock my MacBook every time I come into the office.
Any suggestions to change in my setup? Got an idea for things to add? Let me know in the comments.
