Apple outpaces the other top five US PC makers in the first quarter in terms of Mac shipments according to a research firm.
Apple shipment rose by 32.5% to 1 million units, compared to 762,000 Macs shipped in the same quarter last year. Apple ended the quarter with a 6.6% market share and placed No. 4 among the top computer vendors in the US.
A rival PC Market report also placed Apple at No. 4 with a 6% share. Claiming that Apple had a growth rate of 25.1%. (and the fact that these two reports can’t agree, should give you a good idea of how accurate they are)
One thing is clear, however, and that’s that Apple is continuing to make solid gains in the US market since the switch to Intel chips in 2006.
