Even though the iPhone won’t allow 3rd party support (yet, anyway…I am still going to hold strong to the belief that this will change) some companies are ready to embrace the new phone and see how they can work with it.
The folks at Marketcircle, Inc. for instance – makers of Daylite Productivity Suite and Billings – see the new iPhone as a boon to increase Mac Business productivity and are embracing the new iPhone was an exention of their own products abilities.
from their press release:
“Our engineers have scoped the iPhone, and combined with Apple’s Sync Services, we are confident we can bring shared contacts and meetings and individuals tasks and appointments from Daylite to the iPhone,” says Jetha. “Given that Apple is likely to sell millions of these must-have devices to Mac-based business and creative professionals, and with the productivity gains Daylite offers, we’re looking forward to significant growth in the Mac small business software market. We are working hard to make sure our customers can take advantage of the iPhone.”
Designed for the unique needs of Mac-based businesses of 1-50 people, Daylite 3 is the latest version of Marketcircle’s award-winning productivity management software offering groupware and collaborative features such as meetings, shared calendars, shared contacts, shared projects, email integration and more. Daylite 3 Productivity Suite is priced at US $189 per seat.
It will be interesting to see how products like Daylite work with the iPhone, and if developers will be able to convince Apple to open the product up for further intergration.
