Apple releases ProRes QuickTime Decoder 1.0 for Mac and Windows

Yesterday Apple released the ProRes Decoder tool for Quicktime. This tool will enable Quicktime to play Apple ProRes files, using a codec that provides “lossless, uncompressed HD video at SD data rates” for Final Cut users. This is the very first version of the codec, and playback for Windows machines is included.
