Apple Gazette Video: Quicksilver Basics

June 26, 2007 by Michael 6 Comments

I’m switching our videos to Revver for the time being, after not being completely satisfied with Viddler. I also like the fact that Revver gives me some format options.

Since the iPhone won’t support Flash, but I still want you guys to be able to watch the videos we post, I have posted the video in Quicktime after the jump. Let me know what you think about this option. Obviously no one will be watching videos on the iPhone until Friday…but I decided to go ahead and start posting videos like this anyway…let me know what you think about it.

    I love Quick Silver, but to be fair, you should point out that it is apparently unmaintained and some people (including myself) are experiencing frequent crashes.

    @Michael

    Hey, sorry to hear you’re having problems with it.

    I would have mentioned something like that if I’d ever had that be a problem. I’ve used it on both PPC Macs and Intel Macs over the last few years and have never had it crash on me.

    Do you have any idea what is causing the crashes?

    Please do more on quicksilver. I like the app from the sounds of it, but it was always confusing for me. Keep em comin!

    I love QuickSilver too. One of my favorite apps.
    However, for moving things from one folder to an other, I prefer QuickAccessCM ( http://free.abracode.com/cmworkshop/quick_access.html ), a contextual menu plug-in made for that particular task. Its worth the try.

    @Michael –

    Check the black tree forums; there are a couple of us having problems. I think there’s a strong connection between QS crashing and Synergy (the open source KVM package) so I’ve stopped using Synergy, but I’ve also experienced crashes since I stopped using Synergy.
