Optimus Touch – a $109 iPod Touch knock-off
The Optimus Touch is a cheap iPod Touch knock-off fresh from China that is now available for $109 . That’s 1/3 of the price of the iPod touch, but based on the vide below, it looks like you’re getting what you pay for.
The guy in the video speaks positively of the device, but he’s selling it at the same time – so it’s hardly a non-biased review.
It looks to me like the touch screen on the thing isn’t terribly responsive, and the video author’s instance that the interface is only “like” the iPod Touch, and somehow not a direct copy is completely ridiculous. It even has Apple inspired knock-off icons.

I got to the part where he said how big the storage space was and turned it off. The player looks horrible, and anyone who actually uses the letters “G” “B” to tell you the size of the storage instead of saying Gigs or something similar doesn’t know what they’re talking about.
I wouldn’t even consider buying from these guys.

Well, the only good thing i can see is the camera, you dont get that on an ipod touch. still, no web browser, only up to 4 gigs of space…

Well to all of you people talking about how bad the optimus touch is and how much better the ipod touch is, Maybe you should consider that not all people has $300 to blow on a mp3/mp4 players. So in my eyes if you want a halfway decent mp3/mp4 player that cost alot less go with the optimus touch, but if you have money coming out of your butt get the ipod touch im sure it is alot better than the optimus touch, but i’m saving a little money and getting the optimus. If it breaks or messes up Owell at least it wasnt $300 down the drain!

I just got mine that I bought on Ebay for $94 “shipped” from Hong Kong. It took 2 weeks to arrive but I expected that.
I think there have been quite a few upgrades since this thread started. The new ones have 8gb internal and you can add a 4gb micro SD card for a total of 12gb. The camera doesnt have a super high resolution but if your not going to blow it up and wallpaper your house its works fine. The new one also has video capture that is supprisingly good. It also comes with a video conversion CD that allows you to rip your DVD’s to a compact AVI file. With the 8 gb factory memory it can store 3-4 full length movies.
For under $100 the new 8gig model is the best bang for the buck.

well, if u guys don’t want to spend the 300 bucks then get the Telcast 50. beware of fakes though because theres tones out there. it is a “clone” of touch, but it is much better than optimus.

well i say forget all u haterz its sweet and u kno it as a matter of fact i would prefer that to the ipod touch at least u dont have to pay for ur muzik and it has a digital camera and a camcorder and a webcam does the ipod has that i dnt think soooooo …… and sure they say u can go on the internet with the ipod touch but who needs the internet when u can take a picture or make a movie or chat on ichat with ur muzik device basically u r all haterz and ur just mad cuz u cant afford or get one chumps.
