Going to College? Buy a Mac and Get an iPod Touch

It’s no secret that Apple is huge in the education sector. They’ve had an education section of the Apple store for years now. I remember the Apple store in my school’s MU back before OSX made its debut, back when I doubted I’d ever purchase a Mac. How things change yet stay the same – or something like that.

I got an e-mail yesterday and it made me wish I was signing up for classes again. It’s Apple’s yearly Back to School sale, and it goes like this, per the site:

If you’re a college student or a faculty or staff member at any grade level and you buy a new Mac with Apple education pricing from May 25 through September 7, 2010, you can get a free 8GB iPod touch.* No wonder they call these the best years of your life.

As if all that wasn’t enough, prices on Macs for students offer some decent savings. Get a MacBook for $949, a MacBook Pro starting at $1099, or any other model you want. It’s not a ton of cash, but if you’re a student, every penny counts.

Anyone signing up for these deals? I would if I could — I’ve got my eye on a Mac Mini for the living room.
