Yet Another Faux Moleskine Case

It seems like the big thing to do nowadays is to take your iPad or iPhone and put it in a case that looks like a Moleskine. Why? It’s most likely because of the traditional good looks of the small hardback notebooks, but also because of their relatively low value to thieves. That, and it’s the perfect size to hold an iPhone.

Well, here’s the latest, called The Little Black Book and sold by Pad & Quill. Here’s what their marketing pitch says:

There is something alluring about the little black book and we think you will be easily as intrigued by our Pad&Quill take on this classic. Designed as a slim journal that slips comfortably into your purse, messenger bag or backpack, our Little Black Book also cradles your phone in a protective, hand- crafted wood frame. The comfortable feel of black leather binding*, wrap around strap and classic red bookmark combine to dress your iPhone in vintage style.

What I keep wondering is why someone doesn’t just buy a Moleskine notebook and glue the pages together, then cut out a nice access hole for the iPhone. It might be time consuming, but at least it would look more stealthy than a hardbound book with a wood insert. Or you could just buy this one for $39.99. That’s your other option, of course.
